As the dust settles on the 2009 GORE-TEX® TransRockies Run, blogs and websites around the world are reporting on the incredible experience that was the TRR. From fully supported camps to spectacular vistas, from fun and cameraderie on the trails to sharing stories around the campfire, many came to realize that the TransRockies Run is the ultimate “summer camp” for runners.
While the competition at the front of the field was intense, with some of the country’s hottest ultra and trail runners vying for podium positions and a share of the cash purse, the majority of the field was moving at their own pace, relishing the challenge of completing the entire route, and looking forward to another fun evening in camp.
As word spreads about the TransRockies Run, more and more people are looking to be a part of the experience. From 2008 to 2009, the field double to 128 teams, so it is expected that the 200 available team spots for the 2010 event will be snapped up in short order when registration opens on October 1st. The TransRockies Run features 6-stages of running between Buena Vista to Beaver Creek, Colorado.
The event provides tent accommodations, nutritious catered meals, fully stocked check points, daily awards ceremonies, slideshows, and videos, daily bag transport, and an incredible selection of competitor gifts from event sponsors. Registration fees include an optional $100 per person donation to the event’s two official charities, the Continental Divide Trail Alliance and Choose Outdoors, helping to promote the responsible and low-impact use of our National Forest Lands.
Complete registration details can be found here. Register online starting October 1st, and join us for the “summer camp for runners” in 2010!
