One thing we’ve learned over the course of seven years and nine epic events is that our participants love to document their participation through training blogs, race diaries and post event reports. Reading these blogs and the commitment, emotion and energy they contain is great motivation for the whole TransRockies team as we work each year to provide our participants with the best possible experience.
This year, in the run-up to the event, we’re going to link to a blog each in each newsletter to better share some of our participant stories. January’s featured blog is called I Swim Bike Run (http://iswimbikerun.wordpress.com) and it follows the training of Lynn Astalos, a 46 year old multisport athlete from Morgan Hill on his way to the 2009 GORE-TEX™ TransRockies Run. As blogs go, Lynn’s is a very slick one with multiple pages and a wide range of content from Lynn including movie and gear reviews, his training information and some good personal background information. Nice job Lynn, we’ll be keeping an eye on you as you progress toward the big run this August.
We use Google Alerts to stay on top of the blogs so some might slip through the cracks. If you’d like us to consider including your blog, please drop a line to firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll try to give you a plug before the event.
